Karteek Pulapaka
Fellow at Kstart
Karteek is a Beta Gamma Sigma honors MBA graduate from IE Business School, Madrid. Karteek has a passion for using design thinking to solve business problems in creative ways and produce innovative solutions. Karteek’s enthusiasm to work with founders, who create innovative solutions that could disrupt the business as usual, propelled him to become a Kstart Fellow. Karteek likes to work with budding entrepreneurs and companies to help design products, strategy, and improve operations. Prior to joining Kstart, Karteek worked as a Software Engineer and a Project Coordinator at SunGard Financial Services (acquired by FIS) and Rovi Corporation (now TiVo). He has over 7 years of experience in designing and developing software products with a comprehensive understanding of end to end Software Development Life Cycle. He has also co-founded a mobile phone recycling company and a non-profit for the benefit of abandoned senior citizens.

Why did you decide to take this fellowship up?

Kstart is a place for independent-minded people who are not afraid to challenge the status quo. Naturally, for a maverick like me it is a safe haven where I can think outside the box and explore unconventional solutions to problems. Kstart is also a unique place which, above everything else, values traits such as perseverance and resilience in its founders. As a result, it becomes a melting pot of cream of the crop founders from across the country, influencers from various sectors, and path-breaking ideas. Hence, Kstart provides a platform to interact with next generation leaders and influence how they solve some of the crucial problems.

What are your areas of interest?

Digital Entertainment and Media, and Health Tech.

What do you do when you’re not at KStart?

When I am not at Kstart, you can find me volunteering with local charities or kayaking or sipping Starbucks and reading about or talking political developments.

What was the best piece of advice you ever got?

Always stand-up when you get knocked down. There will always be successes and failures. The experiences rather than the outcomes make you wiser and better prepared for future challenges.
