Siddhanth Jayaram
Fellow at Kstart
Siddhanth holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Economics from Purdue University, Indiana. During his time there, he pursued a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which gave him the opportunity to study in China and Hong Kong. He spent one of his summers at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business as a SIGM participant, understanding the basics of building a technology business. Prior to Kstart, Siddhanth worked as part of the founding team at Hummingbill, a B2B fintech startup, where he assisted the CEO on Sales, Marketing, and Product. In his role, Siddhanth helped the company acquire and build the first few customers across verticals, and saw its exit to a leading Indian fin-tech company.

Why did you decide to take this fellowship up?

I believe that the Kstart Fellowship is going to be a great program for aspiring entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in the Indian startup ecosystem. The opportunity to be a torchbearer for a pioneer program like this one excites me. I look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of how a venture capital firm works, and the journey that entrepreneurs go through while building their companies.

What are your areas of interest?

FinTech, Robotics, and AgriTech.

What do you do when you’re not at Kstart?

When not at Kstart, I like to spend my time watching and playing a lot of sports! Indian Cricket & English football lead the pack, RCB and Manchester United being my favorite teams! Other times, you will find me exploring new music, reading up on tech, finance, geopolitics, meeting new people or watching satirical comedy (Yes, John Oliver tops this list!). When I have extra time in hand, you’ll find me on, or planning, my next adventure around the world.

Best thing that ever happened to me:

15 months ago, I decided to move back to India and be a part of the startup ecosystem here. The kind of development and energy that I see daily is inspiring, and it gives me the belief that a scenario is not too far away where multiple Indian products companies will impact the world. Being able to play a small role in this growth story is the best motivator to get to work every day.
